The Brandenburg Gate would be incorporated in the design, for in addition to it being the symbol of Berlin, the heart of Germany, it was also the scene of massed S.A. torchlight parades past Hitler at the window of the chancellery on the evening of his appointment as Chancellor on 30th January 1933.
