A set of five official postcards issued to commemorate Hitler's fiftieth birthday. The cards are printed in sepia, as are their reversew, hich is pictured bottom left on the facing page. The sepia 6 + 19 Pfennig imprinted stamp is of identical design to Hitler's 1938 birthday stamp. The photographs were all taken by Hoffmann. The surcharge on the cards and the stamps went to Hitler's Culture Fund.

Two variations exist. Under the burelage of the uppercard (under Postkarte) can be seen the word "Antwort" (reply); originally these cards may have been intended to be issued in joined pairs, with one used as a reply card. Because they were issued as singles, "Antwort" was overprinted. The remainder of the unprinted cards therefore had a plain line of burelage applied, shown below the first, to balance the design of the cards.
